The financial sector is one of the most developed sectors of the Armenian economy, the role of which has been continuously increasing for the economy in recent decades. Currently, financial and insurance activities provide 6% of RA GDP. The main players in the sector are banks, insurance companies and credit institutions, while the capital market is limited with a narrow range of instruments, low liquidity of the secondary market, etc.

Net profits of RA banks | 2022 – 2023

In 2023, RA banks registered AMD 230 billion net profit which is 9% less than last year. Ardshinbank registered the biggest profit with AMD 62.7 billion. All banks, except Artsakhbank and Armswissbank, operated with profit, however 6 out of 16 commercial banks recorded a decrease in net profit.

Net profits of RA banks | Q1-Q3 – 2022/2023

In January-September 2023, RA banks registered AMD 215 billion net profit, which is about 11% more than last year. The highest profit was registered by Ardshinbank (AMD 56.9 billion). All banks made a profit, but 6 out of 18 commercial banks recorded a decrease in net profit.
