The Global Findex 2021 survey was conducted in Armenia among 1000 respondents aged 15+, face to face (between August 5 and December 12). The results of the survey show that
- In the last 12 months, 8.2% (±1.7%) of the RA population aged 15+ made a personal payment using a debit or credit card when making a purchase in a store.
- In the last 12 months, 11.9% (±2%) of the RA population aged 15+ made a payment using a mobile phone when making a purchase in a store, moreover, about 1/3 of them made such a transaction for the first time after the COVID-19 pandemic.
Note that since July 1, 2021, the Law On Cashless Payments came into force, according to which transactions exceeding AMD 300,000 must be carried out cashless.
